Do you remember when I mentioned in one of my posts that I was rushing from the World Championship in Germany to an audition in London for X-factor? Yes, time flies! Yesterday, 6.11.2010, Wembley Park held a 5. live episode of the biggest singing show for talents, which are judged by experts Cheryl Cole, Danni Minogue, Simon Cowell and Loius Walsh.
This time the chosen dancers were dancing with the unique Cher Lloyd, who you most likely know from youtube, when she surprised everyone on audition with her style and voice performing a song by Keri Hilson – Turn My Swag On, Palje Richardson and Wagner Carrilho, who are both interesting in their own unique way, haha, (we all have different tastes) and the young talented boys from One Direction, who have a horde of teenagers waiting for them at the entrance and wait for them on the street from 10 am! That’s when we dancers already started with our rehearsal and I have to say that the screams turned me straight to another entrance because it wouldn’t be too smart to go in where the teenagers were waiting.
After our first rehearsal and lunch at the cafeteria there, because you have to be in reach and on stand-by constantly, we also had a rehearsal in costumes and in between make-up and having our hair done the top American choreographer Brian Friedman and his assistants (including Sisco Gomez and Kimberly Taylor) gave us our final directions and corrections from the entire day. Yes, working with him is no piece of cake!!!
When I heard the loud applause from the main studio I knew: ‘Mhm, almost there!’ I quickly ran for my assistant dresser and there I was in my first costume for Cher Lloyd. The girl is truly something special! Only when you meet her live do you realize how focused she is on her performance and she knows exactly what she wants. Noting to it, she is definitely the next pop star in England, no matter how far she manages to get in the show. I had a blast on stage with her, because she chose a great song where the ‘natural’ side of me could enjoy, the hip hop Nika.
Next up was the performance with a young singer, Palje Richardson. When I was all dressed up in the black and white male costume, assistant and me noticed my nylons were ripped and…Crazy house! Quickly undress everything, find new nylons and we had to be on stage in a very short minute! All ends well in the end so I managed to quickly run to the backstage, take my tambourine and off I was, all ready to go!
The performance with Wagner was really something special, haha. It seems England keeps him in the show only to make fun of him, but do you know what? He is actually a really nice man, a bit older but still full of jokes and energy. And if music is so important to him, then let him sing!
But the clock keeps on ticking and there we were ready for our final performance, the one with the young lads which got a lot of applause and convinced the jury once more. I couldn’t wait to stand on the stage and play the role of a cheerleader, haha. There was a crazy energy on stage and the guys gave it their best. This performance touched me in a special way, maybe because the chorus We are the kids in America, uuoouuu… and showed my real character: happy, energetic and lively. Theme of the evening was America so everyone had songs connected to it and I felt like being in the right place at the right time. I already miss my home in Los Angeles, I miss America and this song and performance were truly made for me. It is great to be able to dance different styles and especially all in one night! I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait for my first practice next week, 6th week of X-factor!
Below are clips that you can check and see for yourself which singer or performance you like the most ;)
